KITCHENWARE CHRISTIANITY (21 days of fasting and praying edition)

Day 18

Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Isaiah 58:7

I view the Christian life as more of a FUNNEL than TUPPERWARE—less storage and more pouring through.  It’s a call to be a hole-y people.  People that leak because they have holes in them.  We don’t keep what God’s giving us; we give it away.

We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
We give it away.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
Because we’ve been forgiven we can forgive.  In other words, we can only give what we’ve been given.

Isaiah reminds us that the evidence a person has had an encounter with God is their willingness to be generous with their food, clothing, and shelter.  Remember the words of Jesus:  When we do for the “least least of these” we do unto Him.  There is no disconnection between serving God and serving others.  As we come to the end of our 21 days, give away what God’s given to you.
